Not all writing is political or revolutionary, but the very act of giving yourself permission to write, to speak, to share the truth no matter whether the truth you understand is the truth others want to acknowledge, is brave, powerful, and important.

Point to Ponder

I began writing more after a prayer meeting in which a couple came up to me and said the Lord wanted them to tell me this: “You are too reticent. You have things to say. You need to say them.” I was astounded; no one had said anything like that to me before. I believe it was after that a friend asked me to write for her blog. Now, I have my own blog.

It does take courage, because when I was younger an influential person in my life didn’t appreciate my bent toward writing. Unfortunately, I put way too much stock in what that person said.
